What's covered by our fixed online price, what isn't, and how we handle sites that turn out to need more than a standard install.
These terms apply to online orders for Boliq Home, our residential bollard, placed through boliq.co.uk. They don't apply to Boliq Site or Boliq Guard, which are quoted individually after a site review and are covered by a separate written quote.
Boliq Home is offered online at a fixed, all-in price for one bollard, battery powered, installed on a standard residential driveway. This price includes:
We confirm eligibility for the fixed price from the photos and answers you provide when ordering, rather than an in-person survey. We reserve the right to request further photos, a short video call, or, in rare cases, an in-person visit before confirming an order.
On tarmac driveways specifically: reinstating the area we excavate uses new tarmac, which can be a slightly different colour or texture to older, weathered tarmac nearby. This is a cosmetic difference that typically fades as the new tarmac weathers, not a defect, and isn't grounds for a refund or a free redo. We flag this before you order, not just here.
Some driveway surfaces cannot be reliably cut, excavated and reinstated to match their original finish. This includes, but isn't limited to, resin bound and resin bonded surfaces, natural stone or setts, and pattern-imprinted or decorative concrete. Because we can't guarantee a like-for-like finish on these surfaces, and reinstatement or specialist subcontractor costs vary widely, installations on these surfaces are excluded from the fixed online price and are quoted individually.
The fixed price also excludes: mains power conversion (Boliq Home is battery powered by default; a mains-fed 24V DC supply via a power supply unit is available for an extra £95 plus £35 per metre of cable run at our standard rate, confirmed once the distance to a suitable power point is known), four or more bollards at one property (three fit in a single installer visit; more than that is scoped individually), listed buildings or properties in a conservation area, and any site requiring drainage works, retaining walls, or significant ground remediation. Sites like these are quoted after review, not charged automatically.
Our online order relies on you accurately describing your driveway surface, access and power requirements. If the information or photos you provide don't reflect the actual site, we may:
We will always try to identify a mismatch from your photos before a visit is booked, so this should be rare.
We take a £500 deposit per bollard at the point of order, with the remaining balance due on completion of installation. If we revise your quote after reviewing your photos, for example because a specialist surface or the mains upgrade is involved, no further payment is taken until you've accepted the revised price. Deposits are not currently refundable once an installation date has been booked, except where Boliq is unable to fulfil the order; full refund terms need confirming with a solicitor before launch. No payment is currently taken through boliq.co.uk, this describes the intended process.
Consumer orders placed online are likely to fall under the Consumer Contracts Regulations, which generally give a 14-day cooling-off period. Because installation dates are booked in advance, our cancellation window and any charges for cancelling close to an installation date need to be confirmed with a solicitor before this is relied on.
Boliq Home carries a 1-year warranty on parts and workmanship from the date of installation; full warranty terms will be published before launch. These terms are intended to be governed by the law of England and Wales.
